What Is Swinging? May I first say that I in no way think I am an expert and that I only can go on what I have read, seen, and experienced. If it was not for the internet I probably would have never been introduced to this lifestyle. I attended my first swinger event at ripe ole age of 20. I was in college and in my spare time browsing several adult websites and online communities. I had few pics (x-rated) posted and one day I got an instant message from a woman who had saw them liking what she saw. We starting chatting frequently and one weekend she ended up inviting me to a party she was throwing. I decided to take the offer and thus a swinger was born. Her party was somewhat modest only about 15 people in a hotel suite but still I had fun just meeting people who were as broad minded sexually as I was. I only “played” with the hostess that night but it led to attending other events and meeting other couples privately as well. I am writing this as a 29 year-old man and no I have not been active for nine years. In this time I have did nearly a year of celibacy, monogamous relationships one which spanned over 3 years, and also a little swinging as well. For me swinging is not something I need to do but something I enjoy and choose to do with my partner time to time. Through swinging I have met a lot of great friends, enjoyed great experiences, and learned a lot of good lessons on life and relationships. A swinger as defined by dictionary.com is a person who indulges in promiscuous sex or a person who engages in the exchanging of spouses for sexual activities. This is a very bland definition and I do have a problem with promiscuous because I know a lot of couples and individuals highly selective in the lifestyle. Personally I generally need to be able to have a good conversation with a person before I play with them and feel a certain level of comfort. People have a lot of misconceptions about swingers but if you ask people within the lifestyle itself you would probably get a myriad of definitions. I see a swinger as someone open and honest with their partner and themselves and also being able to separate sex from love. Cheating is not swinging. I usually view couples as swingers but some individuals who truly embrace the lifestyle can be considered too. There a lot of different type of swingers and swing activities which include a wide range from those who do a full swap, soft swap, exhibition and voyeurism, group sex, BDSM, and much more. You have people who attend clubs that cater to the swinger lifestyle or group who may throw private parties. Some may choose to meet couples and individuals for one night for or long term friendships. All and all when I look at swinging it is truly what you make it and can be a pleasurable activity for those open ad mature enough to handle the lifestyle. Half man, Half OMFG... I enjoyed this blog, and thought it very insightful. I will admit to reading it because I was curios about you. And what things you share with others. You provided information on the swinger lifestyle that allows a person to open their minds and see it from various aspects. Thank you.
