Who am I today?

Who am I today? So....I collect masks from all over the world from places I've traveled to, or places someone who knows me has gone. I do so in the belief that we all where masks to cover are identity, or at least how we see ourselves. Online I am not completely the same way I am at work. At work I am not the same way I am with friends. With my my friends I am not the same way that I am with a lover. In all of these circumstances I put on a mask. Something I want them to see to cover up what I am thinking or feeling, be it good or bad. Now obviously there are times when I am candid, and need a shoulder to lean on, and in these moments I take the mask off and reveal who I am. However, there are few who will see this, and rarely that I will keep it off. So of course in a cyber world where no one can see our faces while we tap away at the keyboard, I wonder who it is we want to project. I'm sure some will say they are being themselves. Fine. But no way are you gonna take your mask off comepletely for some asshole over the internet. right? So help me out here. Do you where a mask? When do you put it on and take it off? Is there someone who you always let you see without a mask?  |
