When Life Gives You Lemons

Have you ever had this experience? Life hands you a lemon (maybe several) and you were expecting something a little less sour, say, watermelon for example? That has pretty much summed up my life lately. I won't bore readers with the details. If you are interested you can check out my last several posts.

Notwithstanding, I am pretty amazed at how good the lemonade is tasting lately! Seriously. As one door or chapter in my life has come to a close, a new one has opened. For the past several weeks, a friendship has started to morph into a wonderfully deepening intimate relationship.

I spent the weekend having fun and connecting with him. We went to a pottery studio and painted pottery. We laughed at each other's "artistic abilities!" I forced him to go into a running store to get fitted for a proper pair of running shoes so we could run together! We went into a toy store and played with the toys. (Not those kind of toys! Get your minds out of the gutter! ) We bought cupcakes at a cupcake bakery. (The salted caramel one was yummy!) We picked out pumpkins and mums from the nursery to decorate my porch with. We went to the park and spent time enjoying the weather and time with our families. Yes, I said families. Oh and we did a lot of talking about so many things! And we disagreed about a lot of things! It's easy to laugh about it because we were sitting naked in a bathtub full of bubbles at the time! And the sex...

We let our guard down with each other by closing the door on past relationships. Being vulnerable with someone is both scary and exhilarating! I am beginning to have feelings that I haven't allowed myself to access for a long time. I must say, the lemonade is tasting marvelous these days.

Readers, how was your weekend? Did you do anything fun or exciting? Have you ever found yourself making lemonade out of lemons? If so, I'd love to hear about it.

Good for you!!

My last two weekends have been filled with seasonal chores, though the weather made that a lot more bearable. I took a mini-vacation and visited a friend in Tulsa early last week, and had a GRAND time!

Glad to hear you are having some fun. All work and no play makes CleavageFan4u a dull boy.

This is one of my blogs recently I called "The Lemonade I made with the lemons"

My daughter got married this past February. It was at an all inclusive resort in Mexico. Two weeks before the wedding my doctor told me I was type II diabetic. In the booklet he gave me the first two chapters dealt with the shock of the news and the impending depression. Actually it made me laugh because I was not shocked and I certainly was not depressed. What I did feel was pissed that I was not smart enough to listen to my doctors warnings over the years but it was the kick in the ass I needed. Now six months later I am 20 pounds lighter and half way to my weight loss target. One of the benefits is it makes me more confident approaching people here on Passion because I am more in line with the weigh/height proportion for my age. I am so looking forward to this ski season. I have skied all my life and often say I can ski better than I can walk. The appeal of having 30 or 40 pounds less on my knees each turn is going to be a treat. I guess what made me think of the title is that I flavor my water, 8 glasses a day, with Crystal Light Lemon flavor additive.
