 both, a dogs love is unconditional and given freely. they occupy a special place in our hearts...sorry you lost your friend, my wish is there life span matched ours so we could spend our lives with the ones that mean the most to us.i've had two dogs in my lifetime that i loved, one was hit by a car when i was 12 yr. old and the dog i currently own, an 8 yr old lab that i got when she was 6 weeks old....other dogs have come and gone over the years but they just weren't special to me. i don't know why one dog can be your best friend and another means very little to me but i cherish the dog i currently have and will be crushed when we finally have to lose her. i hope you find another friend to help heal the hurt !!!
