one pebble at a time
Saving you one pebble at a time
some type of torture and some type of crime
as you demand I do no more
as you must fight your own war
the water tank in which you splash
so deep each movement an echo crash
you are keeping your head above water
and I think helping you quicker I ought to
as I throw another pebble in
and then I count a full minute again
before another pebble from my perch cast
to built the floor of tank up so you at last
no longer need to tiredly water tread
can escape the cold and dark and be fed
and I shall no longer need to slowly drop pebbles in
to try and save your precious stubborn skin.
