The Mirror Deep

The Mirror Deep
Staring into the mirror deep
Wondering if I am awake or so asleep
These arms could be full
yet resist the tugging pull
know there is emptiness there
a vacuum into which I would fall
and know I do move not away
though I count each and every day
is it cowardice or a ense of duty
is it who we are or who I might be
what do others looking in see
do they believe or think is an impossibility
after so long of being one side
of a coin minted to show two
not knowing if is my rhythm or the other
why do I think or even continue to bother
to rehash and reflect
if answers black I neglect
and somewhere sometime
there is another something
to be found or rediscovered
the truth of the person staring back at me
from the mirror deep.

 years on the clock
and is duty done
time to unfurl wings
so crimped and cramped
practically withered away
would they once more enable
