It's where I lived from '79 to '84
A place called Bretton Hall
Upper West Side 2350 Broadway between 85th & 86th St.
I was young and working at a Recording Studio on West 57th Street. The subway was right across the street from me which made life easier.
My rent at the time was about 580. per month. unit now goes for about 4000. per month. That's out of my price range.
Thanks to the internet I found these photos
This morning just thinking about
"Those Were The Days"
A new blog I'll be starting in January 2020.
Have a great day...

Every so often I think to myself... Back in the day working at a Major NYC Recording Studio.
This is so worth a try...
Wondering if any fellow colleagues are also on Passion?
The years were 1979 thru 84.
We may have worked at another NYC studio but... We had the best times We all knew each other We worked super long hours We were a very close family.
At the time the major studios were:
Power Station MediaSound Factory Record Plant A&R Studios Electric Lady
We all used the following Neve and SSL Recording Consoles Studer 24 Trk Tape Machines Neuman U87 Mics
We were also a part of the (AES) Audio Engineering Society. I was living in the Upper West side -2350 Broadway between 85th and 86th. Bretton Hall
Such Great Times...

Just here promoting a new blog I'll be doing... starting in January 2020
"Those Were The Days"
Department Stores no longer Fast Food Restaurants long gone Fashions we wore Bicycles and toys we once had...
Things we did growing up that put a smile to our face.
example - had to be in the mid 60's I was pretending I was playing drums on my mom's cookie tin she had filled with buttons for sewing. It sure sounded like a snare drum. Playing it to the Beatles, Dave Clark Five, Buddy Holly etc...
You get the idea
Please keep an eye out starting Jan 2020 "Those Were The Days" Fond memories - We all have em! Get involved...

Okay - My first half of my working career I worked some pretty cool / well-known Recording Studios throughout NYC, NJ and the DC area.
Around 92ish I left the Music Industry and started a Video Production Company in Northern VA just outside of DC. I went after the Federal Gov't. and Corporate America. In 2010 into 2011, I decided to give it up and slowly retire.
Thinking to myself that I always wanted to live at a beach. So in 2011...I made that happen.
Lately missing the Music Industry and the fun I had I decided to create a new mini Music Production Studio. No not as a biz, but for my own enjoyment.
First two photos was from when I was closing down my video company. 3rd photo running a video job for a large . 4th photo I used to play and promote myself in the DC area to other Musicians and club owners.
I so loved what I did...
Such fond memories... Long time ago
Have a great night.

It's an all day rain day here at the Jersey Shore. Not even thinking of going outside today.
This is a perfect day to continue working on the Music Production Studio.
Today's project...
Yesterday I bought a Yahama mixing console. Making the mixing console rack mountable and keeping it in this flight case.
Hopefully it'll come out good.
Have a great day...
~Holly

I completed the above (see last photos) But now thinking I want to come up with another idea. With the Flight case on the ground. The mixer is to low to the ground. At 61 I'm not about to be going up and down to adjust levels.
Have a great day...

Today on the Atlantic City boardwalk by Caesars Casino I struck up a conversation with a from Washington, DC. I mentioned on how I lived just outside of DC for 27 years in Northern VA (Fairfax County). I explained why this was my favorite place I ever lived except for the traffic.
Loving History, The DC area has so much to offer.
We started talking about the Christmas holiday, and that's when I mentioned my favorite Christmas song is "Christmas Eve In Washington" by Maura Sullivan. The song was never a big . But the song has so much meaning me.
I'm sure we all have our favorite holiday song... What's yours?

Okay - while having my morning coffee a zillion things cross my mind.
This morning was no different.
But this idea kept coming and going today.
Wondering if there's any interest in a friendly (nonsexual) get together?
I would highly recommend you bring a friend or friends so each and every person would be comfortable.
No - This would not be at my home. This can take place at a casino or Hotel/Motel beach block.
I'm thinking mid to late Spring.
If there's interest we can all plan it ...
Your thoughts???
