Marijuana, mary jane, weed, herb, 420; whatever you know IT by, has been around for some time and is widely thought to be smoked by a large percentage of the population, yet, it is illegal.(Except for the medicinal arrangements and the Amsterdam arrangements). There are a number of considerations that are being offered in respect to dealing with this. I think that braodly speaking there are three considerations. One, to legalize it and make it a commodity like tobacco. I think that will not happen because 'big business' would not be able to control the production, (because anybody and everybody would grow their own!) Or movement and/or the distribution on a large scale because there are others in that trade already! Second broad option is to 'decriminalize' the possesion (with varying quanity consideration)aspect. Meaning, a particular ammount on your person would attract a) no action b) a reprimand c) a fine. No 'criminal' charges would be in effect! Large quantities and distribution would still be illegal. The third option is the current prevailing position most places, it is illegal! (Given what you know about the subject and/or the 'commodity' what would you like to see happen?
