Upcoming Father's Day - if your Dad is still living

I still find it strange to not pay attention to Father's Day even though Dad will have been gone 4 years next month. I just realized it's coming up and I have no one to buy for. He passed a few weeks after it so this is my 3rd without him. We fought so much and I regret a lot. So if your dad is still around, let him know you love him, even if you barely talk. Cause God can take him in a snap of the fingers. Trust me, I know it all too well. Don't have the regrets I have. Take care of things while he's still living and breathing.

And if you think maybe hey your Dad's not that old and he'll be around forever, my Dad was 52 and I thought the same thing. So push aside your pride, cause that won't console you when he's gone.

I sent an Angel to watch over you last night, it returned in a hurry. I asked why, it said "Angels can't watch porn." Thanks for fucking traumatizing my fucking Angel!

Don't bother trying to figure me out. Not even the little voices in my head understand me. It's pointless!

Great post!
My Mom and Dad has been gone many years but I still miss them very much! Now I talk to them thru my heart, maybe it sounds weird but I still feel like they r still close!

Mine was 62 yo (25+ years ago). My Mom now 92 remains alive and kicking mostly. It is easy to ponder and recollect. I moved on, but there's no way to really skip it, just enjoy the memories and work toward the better. As I grew older, often wished and knew I had not captured some of the wisdom and know I missed some guidance along the way. I don't even consider myself a Dad but have the bills and some of the fun to confirm it.

My dad passed in Feb. the day before his 89th birthday. We had more of a working relationship, he taught me how to work with my hand more then with my heart. I have no regrets. Treasure the good memories. I blogged more about it last year ( I think ) on Fathers day.

Very well said about loving your parents. Because when they are gone, they arent coming back.

BTW it is a beautiful pic of you and your dad - I had to say it
