Why does this happen so often

I have found over the years that people say they will meet up for drinks and what ever but then do not show up. I know it happens to the ladies WAY more often than to men but it does happen. What are we afraid of, rejection, no chemistry or not what is expected, who knows. I know this has happened to me and I am certain of my feelings. I have not done this to anyone that I am aware of without a VERY good reason. I have always made contact with the other person several times to stay in touch and found alternate ways to stay in contact other then here. My cel phone is the best way so that IF anything prohibits me from showing up I can tell the other person right away.

 What I gather from you rant is that you going to where you are to meet.its a blind date with a visible inspection of what you look like.I for 1 would never turn down a change to meet a lady,its not all about looks I would say.
