sorry, but it's not easy being in a foreign country and figuring out what to do.
just keep explaining what is required, what is optional, etc. and take him out for a beer

i have had several conversations with him and he has calmed down. i took him to get a phone and a computer. he is started to adjust. still a long way to go.
