not to jump on any bandwagon but...

my sincerest sympahthies to those folks in blacksburg and elsewhere who were directly touched by the tragedy that befell that campus.
slainte'

on the other side, cho seung-hui needs our compassion too. his was a tortured soul for reasons as yet unknown or even unknowable. he was an angry young man without an acceptable outlet. his rage came from somewhere, and found ... what?
he struck out in the most basic fashion, rage like that knows no boundaries. it is the fight in our "fight or flight". he was in "flight' for who knows how long, and finally made the switch and began to fight.
fear is the most basic of all human emotions. it is the first thing we feel as we are born. only to be dispelled by our mothers touch and comforting.
if we cannot find that "comfort zone", we continue to fret and live in a constant state of fear and 'flight' and when the psyche has had enough?
when we have been tormented too long?
we fight back.
so much of our popular culture is predicated on this. just look at most of lions gate films, SAW, HOSTEL, VACANCY. the idea behind "the punisher", hell his name even. so much of our culture is based on revenge: the wars in afganistan and iraq, chechnya and darfur, rwanda and cambodia, palestine and belfast.

the real question is,

when will we grow out of this adolescent rage? and finally stop the madness.

dear john,

i almost miss you. although you are an evil bastard, you are not completely incompetent. Alberto "Fredo" Gonzales on the other hand is a total nut case. in sworn testimony before the senate he said "I have not recollection of ..." or some variation of that more than 70 times. The Attorney General of the United States. He does not 'recall' what was discussed athis own meetings regarding the competance of his underlings. he remembers making the decision to fire them but not when, or at what meeting.

either this man is lying or he is totally incompetent, and in either case needs to be fired.
yet our delectable el presidente, despite admitting he did not see or read Fredo's testimony, "has the fullest confidence" with his AG.

lord help us all.

respectfully

Louis Cifer

ok let me get this straight...
first he said there were weapons of mass destruction
(and so far we havent found any, because there arent and weren't any)
second he said there was a connection to al qaida
(well there may be now but before the invasion? no.)
then he said there was the plot to get 'yellow cake' from afica (wilson shot that full of holes, taking lessons from cheney?)
Rummy said, "better targets thang afganistan"
(ooo a little honesty, at least he admits the only reason was so that they could blow stuff up)
then W says, we will fight them there so we dont have to fight them here"
then he said, 'well he's a bad man and is a threat to the US. (mmmm, half right, he WAS a bad man. threat? no, pretty well bottled up and not coming here)
so throwing international good will into the dumper, invades a country who did us no harm to take out a bad man,
just to be on the safe side.
mmmm...
ok he disregards all evidence to the contrary, saying this man/country is not a threat to treat it as if it was.
now, what about global warming? he believes all the evidence to the contrary and decides to ignore the possible threat...
saddam hussein not a threat and attacked vigourously...
global is a threat completely ignored...

something tells me this guy does not have our best interests at heart.

back after a loooong hiatus. and you know what i am gonna burn this thing down. this is my blog right? so i get to say whatever i want right?
alright....

liar.
there i said it.
bush is a goddamned liar.
and folks have died for it.
clinton lied about getting a hummer in the oval office. and was impeached for his pleasure.
bush lied, people have died.
sound like more than an impeachment is in order.
how about war crimes. turn him over to the hague, the world court, and see how far his lies get him.
so far his little adventure in Iraq has cost us more american lives than 9/11.
who's the terrorist?
who is exporting violence all over the world?
are we safer?
hell no.
worse i'd say.

and only tangentally connected with the movie....

first, ok i know 'those guys' responsible for the 'talk like a pirate' day...
second, ever watched that silly show on ABC "wife swap"?
welll theys be on it or will be as the case may be on sept 18 one of our local folks on TV...
why do i bring this up here? you ask?
well because, they had a pirate party with the cameras rolling, and well i got into a fight with the cameras rolling...it was a pirate fight...swashbucklin style
so if'n we be lucky ye jus might catch a glimpse of me running around sword in hand attempting to defend meself from a common ruffian...
not to mention TLPD is the next day (sept 19)

here's to my 15 sec of my 15 min of fame...

first off thanks to bustybettyboop for her comment it hit the spot....

it kinda made feel as i did when i had a radio show on the local student station (KBVR) at the university...
it was an EARLY time slot 5;30-8 in the bloody AM.
i played jazz and tried to give stuff away to the 5th caller....
3rd caller...
ok anybody who calls will get these tickets....
ok fine i'll take them, jeez.

so there i was spinning tunes out into the ether where no-on was listening, adding commentary and reading the news...which was the best part, we had a AP wire and since NO-ONE else was around i could read whatever story i wanted...so i'd read stuff i knew no-one else would.

didn't matter tho, as far as i could tell i only had 1 listener and he was part-time...didn't like the 'squeaks and squawks' i played...

there is no appreciation for art.

i have noticed that folks have 'viewed' my profile....
i have sent 'winks'...and only winks as i am cheap and have not ponied up for anything other than the standard membership...
to folks who, according to the personality profile are good to excellent matches (4-5 stars)...
added a couple to my hotlist...
i mean the list goes on....
not even a tease let alone anything resembling an invite...
what am i doing wrong?
i see that my blog has generated some hits but no comments...
am i that boring?
what are folks looking for that would elicit a response?
i have noticed more than a few folks, women and couples i would very much like to get to know...but as a standard i cannot initiate contact other than winks....does anybody really pay attention to these?
ladies do you really want to see pics of my member? i could post a few but i guess that just stikes me a bit crass.
i dont know...
guys, who have posted such pics, has it worked?
do women/couples prefer to see ones naughty bits before anything else?

ok i feel a rant coming on...
it seems i do not know how to operate in this environment...
i mean, i have posted to groups, sent e-mails, winks, and created a blog...
but so far no-one is even remotely interested...
should i take this personally?
there is a great deal of talk out there, folks looking for this and that, more people offering services than looking for them...and here i sit like yesterdays chopped liver.
i feel like the last puppy at the pound...
well thats a bit much now isn't it...but how does this work?
so many folks saying 'we should have a M&G!"
"Soon!"
ok, WHEN?
if its in a public place just to meet, then whats the delay?
whats the exclusivity?
lets just put something on somewhere sometime
SPECIFIC
i tried a last minute kinda thing and, nothing.
and i refuse to give money to these 'people (Passion)
maybe thats my problem, but i dont think so. i have been able to send a few emails and still got no response, so upgrading would only increase the number of ignored e-mails

sorry like i said a rant was coming on...
its late (3;40am) and so i am a bit out of sorts
g'nite.
sleep tite
dont let the bedbugs bite.

ok question,

some folks have complained that folks here are all talk and nothing else not even just a casual meet...
i for one would truly like to see something like that happen, as a standard member its hard for me to contact folks from my login
what is the best way to contact folks, when direct e-mail is not available?
winks?
invite to network?
hotlist?
or post an e-mail addy someplace, like here.
just trying to get a grip on how this works
and as for setting a time and place i figure if someone just creates one and see who shows?

well i am not here long as i need to get out the door to rehearsal.
just wanted to say hello to the 7 folks who have taken a gander at this anemic little blog.
it would be interesting to see who is viewing a blog, i mean we can track who is viewing our profile but can we do the same for a blog?
something to look into.
